Life Coach Craig Perra, J.D., C.P.C., founder of The Mindful Habit® System taped a show with the great Steve Harvey and we are thrilled to announce that it’s airing on October 18, 2016. In this episode, Craig helps a couple move beyond porn addiction. Craig will be appearing with other guests including Emmy Award Winning Sterling K. Brown, star on the NBC smash hit, “This Is Us.”
Like many, this married couple Drew and Tilina, are stuck. Drew stopped watching porn, but their relationship didn’t improve – this is so common unfortunately. Here’s what Craig had to say:
I see this all the time and is one of the primary myths of the disease based addiction model. People think they are done when they stop doing “the thing” … and the truth is they haven’t really started the hard work. To break a habit you have to make a habit and if you don’t address the underlying issues that drove the porn addiction in the first place, you will stay stuck forever. People must understand that THE PORN IS THE SYMPTOM – it’s never the root cause and people need to start treating it as the symptom if they want growth. This is true for the individual, and it’s true for the couple too.”
You can get more information about times etc… on Steve Harvey’s web site. Here’s what they have to say about the show:
According to a recent study, it’s estimated that nine million Americans suffer from porn addiction. Steve welcomes a young couple that says a porn addiction is threatening to ruin their marriage. TILINA and DREW have been married for three years. On average, Tilina tells Steve Harvey that she and Drew would only have sex once a month for the first couple years of marriage. Tilina was riddled with self-doubt, until Drew recently admitted to her that his addiction to porn was the reason their sex life had been derailed. Porn addiction specialist, life coach and creator of the “Mindful Habit,” CRAIG PERRA joins the conversation to give advice to this couple in need.
